Company History
Simpson, which has been in the forest products business since 1890, has three operating subsidiaries: Simpson Timber Company, Simpson Door Company and Simpson Paper Company (whose subsidiary is Simpson Tacoma Kraft Company). Simpson Timber Company owns production facilities in Washington State, where it converts logs into dimension lumber. Simpson Door Company makes and sells high-quality interior and exterior wood doors. Simpson Tacoma Kraft Company, LLC manufactures bleached and unbleached kraft pulp and linerboard at its mill, which employs the most advanced paper recycling techniques available, recycling some 500 tons of old corrugated material per day into economical, strong, attractive and environmentally friendly paper.
Founded in 1890 by Sol Simpson, Simpson remains privately held.
