ACRT Urban Forestry Training
We don't trim trees, but we provide training to those who do! ACRT Urban Forestry Training provides vocational training at entry and advanced levels to give students the technical expertise and scientific basis for professional tree care. Skills taught include climbing, pruning, roping and rigging, chain saw operations, tree identification, safety and tree removal.
Company History
Founded in 1985 and currently headquartered in the city of Akron, Ohio, ACRT is an employee-friendly, client-focused Utility Vegetation Management consulting firm. This means our objective is to help power companies provide safe and reliable electric service.
ACRT boasts of more than 400 employees - each one of whom is an owner of the company. ACRT has been 100 percent employee owned since 2003. We work in most states and have satellite groups in Lodi, CA and Nashville, TN. ACRT also manages arborist training in six Job Corps centers in Oregon, Illinois, Vermont, Arkansas and Kentucky.
With this dedicated and inherently bottom-line focused group of employees, ACRT has taken its experience in Utility Vegetation Management and has successfully positioned itself as a leader in the industry.
ACRT is the first and largest national vocational commercial urban forestry consulting firm in the United States, and the first national line clearance, tree care, urban forestry training organization. Since that time, ACRT’s multifunctional urban forestry team has grown to include utility arborists, horticulturists, urban foresters, and GIS technicians.
ACRT’s employees represent more than 2,700 years of experience in utility vegetation management, and we use that experience to deliver the highest standard of performance in the industry.
