Sierra Pacific Industries is a third generation family-owned company based in Shasta County, California. The firm owns and manages nearly 1.9 million acres of timberland in California and Washington, and is the second largest lumber producer in the United States. Sierra Pacific Industries is committed to managing its lands in a responsible and sustainable manner to protect the environment while providing quality wood products and renewable power for consumers. We employ modern forest management practices that closely mimic natural forest events. Technology has dramatically improved, and with it, our ability to monitor forest conditions and minimizes our impact on the environment. All our mills are state-of-the-art to optimize every fiber of each tree, and we are a certified participant in the independent Sustainable Forestry Initiative to help ensure our forests are here for generations to come.
The Sacramento River runs through the center of Shasta County, creating a rich landscape with a variety of outdoor adventures of things to see and do in and around the area; including world class fishing, nature tourism, shopping, sports activities, water adventures, culture and heritage opportunities and quality attractions. Most of Shasta County experiences over 200 days of sunshine a year but enjoys all four seasons--so there is always something to do.
