Join the Hampton Lumber Team: Timberland Forester – Sedro-Woolley, WA
We are currently seeking a Timberland Forester to join our team based in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. This role is a key component of our forest operations team, supporting sustainable forest management in the region. Requirements
Support forest harvesting and road construction operations in the Sedro-Woolley Management Area.
Ensure all operations comply with State and Federal regulations and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standard
Perform all tasks in alignment with Hampton’s safety plan
Assist in developing short- and long-term harvest and road construction plans
Participate in scheduling, permitting, layout, and supervision of forestry operations
Administer harvest and road-building contracts on company-managed lands
Monitor and ensure log quality from stump to mill
Represent Hampton in industry groups, community outreach, and advocacy efforts.
Support resource management activities such as timber inventory, silviculture, road maintenance, and land acquisition projects
Skills & Attributes:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and feature services
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Committed to professional development and continuing education

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Capable of operating 4WD vehicles on variable forest road conditions
Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
3–5 years of relevant field, administrative, or supervisory experience preferred
